TOP 5 ANIME CHARACTERS FROM INDIAN ORIGIN (YOU WON'T BELIEVE IT)!!
India has been a ancient countries and a land to various cultures and stories, the diversity in India also includes a diversity in Philosophies, and Stories that amaze people. Anime creators have been using a lot of Indian characters and concepts lately, but have you noticed it? We guess, not. So here's a list for you.
1) INDRA AND ASURA (NARUTO)
Both Indra and Asura are in constant battle from generation to generation with each other and they often reincarnate as rivals (seems similar right?).
2) KING YEMMA (DRAGON BALL Z)
Well-well, seems like all the GOAT animes have Indian characters in them. King Yemma in Dragon Ball Z is a direct inspiration of Hindu God Yama, who is the King of Hell and who holds the responsibility to punish evil souls and reward good souls.
Yama is a very powerful character in Hindu Mythology and so is King Yemma. In India, he is often known as 'Yamraj'(try asking a Indian about him).
3) VINSMOKE JUDGE (ONE PIECE)
Just like i've said above, that maybe it is an compulsion to have an Indian character character in GOAT animes, this character is the Vinsmoke Judge from One Piece.
He is directly inspired from the Garuda God from Hindu Mythology, who is the king of all Birds and is a symbol of Peace and Justice. It's Golden hair is also directly taken from Garud Dev as Garud is described as a Golden Bird in Hindu Scriptures.
4) KOKUJO TENGEN MYO (BLEACH)
The trend continues, this character in Bleach is the final stage of Captain Komamura, it looks like a giant humanoid bull wrapped around with ropes and red skinned. This character is a direct inspiration from the Buddhist character Vidyaraja, who is one of the Wisdom kings in Buddhism and his job was to defend the wisdom Buddha.
The ropes entangled in his body are known as 'KalaSutra' who are used to send sinners to the Hell. You will be amazed to know that the English translation of KOKUJO TENGEN MYO is "Vidyaraja of Kalasutra's Heavenly Punishment".
